Default P0411 help combi valve location ?

im new to the forum here and wanted to say hi to everyone first before asking for help. I have searched the forum of p0411 and got some answers but i couldnt find any posts about the location of the combi valve or what it looks like ? if anyone could help that would be great. my car feels way down on power sometimes when i start it up it with sputter and when i hit the gas it will stall out unless i hit it gently or let it idle for a few, also it seems like its idling pretty rough hopefully its all due to this code and no other issues. it is a 98 2.8 quattro 5spd 30v thanks to everyone in advance for the help.

matt

Have not seen a air injection fault cause a poor running condition. Do you have any pending codes?
BTW the combi valves are on the back of each cylinder head.

They are silver, aluminum with a round stainless top from what i rmember. They are usually bolted right on the back of the head.

How do your vacuum lines look? If you haven't replaced them, start there.

This weekend im going to start tearing into it take out and clean the combi valves ( any tips) replace the coolant sensor ( my temp gauge doesn't work im guessing cuz of that code) and take a look at the vacuum lines and replace with silicone if necessary.

If your temp guage is not working i would start with a coolant temp sensor. Check the vacuum lines going too the air valves if it has them & also check the lines going to the solinoid valve that sends vacuum to them.

thanks a lot for all your help i really do appreciate it. this is my second german car my first was a 98 jetta vr6 that died last year during the hurricane due to a massive puddle . i hydrolocked the motor when it first died i paniced and tried starting it again it half cranked then nothing. if i didnt try starting it i maybe could have saved it. dropped the oil pan and my rods looked like bananas . sold the car with the blown motor for 600 bucks to the kid down the street he rebuilt the whole this turboed it and i get to see it still driving around lol. now i got the audi which i always wanted and loved it. i have been slowly buying engine parts. mostly internals and im going to remove the motor and rebuild it from scratch complete tear down. i have the garret turbo from my old eclipse and all the electronics fuel managment system everything which i plan in installing once i get some free time. i wish i could find someone who lives close that has alot of knowledge on the audi that can tear the motor apart with me . ive built 4 cars up but never a audi so its all virgin territory for me . but i am a mecp certified installer when it comes to car audio and video electronics i was a installer and fabricater for 5 years so if you ever need anyhelp with audio remote starters alarms or a full on custom setup fiberglass and paint feel free to message me i owe you one. thank you very much and ill let you guys know what happens saturday thanks again for all the help

p.s. im also a licensed electrician now so anyquestions on the home or need any help i got ya there too lol
