Default Painting callipers

Hi everybody,

I am new to Audi's and reasonably new to car mods...

I'm looking to paint my callipers black, (black Audi A4), just because they're looking quite old.

What sort of paint should I use?

Any other help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

When I did my front and rear rotors I also painted all four calipers black. I took a wire brush to them, then some brake cleaner, then used hi-temp caliper paint. You could also use hi-temp engine enamel, as I've had good luck with that in the past as well.

Definitely no gonna get as nice of a finish as with the G2 system, but its way cheaper and if you're going black like I did, it won't matter too much anyway.

If you just want to paint them to keep the surface rust away, then use the spray caliper paint. If you want them to look good for a while, you need an epoxy paint like the G2. The kit can be had much cheaper here:

Thanks for this, like you say, I'm just doing them black, so it doesn't really matter, just to make them look slightly newer.

I hear ya. I'm not into the flashy caliper paint jobs, personally. Maybe if I had brakes big enough and impressive enough to show off, but for stock calipers and A8 rotors the black is fine. Just makes them look less shitty and rusty IMO.

**** buying paint for £6.00 and buy calipers for $4000? On a car that cost me under £500...

If you have that much money, why are you in the A4 B5 section of the forum?

Don't bother replying because nobody cares.
