Default Painting Rims? Yes? No? advice..

Alright so i bought my 1998 audi a4 2.8q from this lady who drove it into Boston everyday for like 10 years (putting 208k miles on it), so there are more then a few curb chips and dings on the rims. I'm really low on money but i hate how shitty they look, so should i paint them black if the car is silver? I'm just trying to clean the car up right now and I've been debating painting them or not because of the color of the car and the style rim. They are stock a4 rims for the '98, so I am just looking for advice/ other fairly cheap options. Thanks.

I'll try to get pictures up later today

and btw, HID conversion kits.. I've read from other threads that the 98 a4 doesn't have projector headlights and installing a kit would just spill the lights all over the place. Are clear corners the solution next to buying projector headlights? sorry I'm new at the moding thing haha

I've painted my wheels twice now, here are some pics from after the first time:

And here is the thread I used as a guide:

The first time I painted them with spraypaint, but I left the finish rough looking (not shiny) on purpose. Then I decided that they were too hard to clean that way, so I redid them with some kinda house paint that you just paint onto the wheels yourself. It turned out a lot better that way, and they're a lot easier to clean. GOPHER IT!

If your low on cash and the car is silver...Black is fine. Just try and do the best prep job that you can. I have been quoted $50 dollars a wheel to sand blast and re-paint.

i'd grind down the rashes first. and ya it looks like she was literally kissing the curb lol. i've seen one person paint the spokes black and left the lip silver. it looked pretty cool, just a suggestion incase you wanted to get creative. also clear coat them if you want them to last long.
