it could be. but if it is, theres nothing to vent. without the vacuum line going into it, it does nothing. its just supposed to detect leaks, as its name states. you could rip it out probably. if you do rip it out, take a picture of whats underneath and ill let you know

no problem man. i dont have anything better to do since i blew my POS spec clutch haha. waiting on my southbend to get here. even if its for evap, it is also useless. your tank vents itself

So I looked up the part number on the "mystery" pump and it was 8E0 927 317. It comes back as a Vaccuum pump. I think it may have something to do with brake boosting? I dunno, but thats what my search came up with. BTW, I had a hell of a time get that crank breather hose out (the one with the metal clip on it) so I just left the elbow and I will pipe into it from that little elbow...you can't see it anyway. Those 2 lines I origionally asked about, I just cut them to a point where you won't be able to see them and called it good. Other than those little snags, it didn't go bad at all. I can't believe I had all this crap in there and no wonder I had so many leaks all the time. I haven't been able to run my car cause I'm working on replacing my cam chain tensioner, but I'm sure I will have a CEL or something. I have an ULTRA GAUGE monitor LCD system running at all times so I can just clear the codes with a touch of a button while driving I will post up pics once I get everything else done. Here's the list: Cam Chain Tensioner replaced, valve cover painted, drivers side engine cover installed, new Hard Pipe TIP install, tuck/hide any extra wires and cables, make new Heat Shield...its gonna be a fun weekend!

i just removed my valve cover and intake manifold, sanded them, and polished. i like the chrome look. i left my elbow in too because i just bought it for 40$ before i did all that haha. you can remove that pump, you have a natural vacuum system so its extra useless, like i said earlier, just make sure you only have vacuum going to your booster, or you wont be able to push your brakes. if you left all those valves plugged in, you wont get a CEL. and what is this ultra guage? im interested now, is it like a little touchscreen vagcom or something?

http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm Its bad *** dude. It has so many options...like intake temp, timing advances, throttle position, maf%. It'[s totally worth the money just to be able to see pending codes and trouble codes as soon as they appear and clear them just as quickly lol.
