Default PCV spider hose

Does anyone know if the 30 valve 2.8 is the same for my 12 valve? I'm going to replace the whole pcv section hose and the only one I can find is for the 30v. Also, since I'm having problems again with the pcv gumming up and blowing out the valve gasket, I want to install a catch can. Is that cool for the 2.8 or is it something more for the 1.8ers?
I also heard that you can buy some high temp rubber hose and just replace the crappy brittle plastic. I just know about the ends fitting right though? I think there is a pcv valve or something anyhow attached to the whole hose section.

I would go with what you hinted at: just buy some rubber hose and cut it yourself. I know a bunch of guys have done it that way. I'm sure if you took a little section of the OEM hose to a decent hardware store you'd be able to get a good replacement
