Default phantom coolant leak.

so before winter i got a mk3 jetta on coilovers, so i could raise it for big snow storms. my a4 is on springs and its just to low to get over a lot of inches. anyway to make a long story short, i parked the a4 and occasionally started it to keep it running. today i went out to change the battery since the old one had died and there was no more coolant in my tank. i can see no where that it leaked from the temp sensor housing on the back of the block was replaced like 15k ago nothing from the radiator or thermostat anyone know where else is a problem leak spot its got just under 150k and its a 99.5 1.8t

check the back of the motor for a leak. most likely is the coolant flange. mine leaks a little bit. i just check the fluid every time i fuel up. I didnt think it was worth spending $600 on getting it fixed.

dude 600 to fix the coolant flange do you own a bentley or something? The fix will cost about 50$ and some elbow grease

Who installed the flange? It VERY easy to twist or pinch the seal between the flange and the head, thats what my money is on. You need a flash light and a mirror to look under the flange, its not visible without one.
