Default Pleasse help 99.5 1.8T AC intermittent problem!!

Intermittent AC problem.

When I start the car for the first time and continue to drive, the AC works beautifully as long as drive. Now let us say if I drive for a while shot distance and stop and shut down the car and let the car sit out side in the hot sun few times, (you know stopping at point A for half hour then drive to point B and let the car sit for an hour and so on) the AC will start blow hot air. The next day it will be all fine!

I think something is wacked out with the temp control. The AC has enough Freon to cool the car nicely when it wants to so I know it’s something else.

Is it the temp control sensor????

TIA

Prasad

What does your temp display show on your instrument cluster? Does the snowflake stay on or disappear after you try to turn on the A/C when it doesnt blow cold air? Do you have a VAG COM, scan for codes.

You know I never paid attention to the snow flakes, I will keep my eyes open next time. I do not have a VAG COM . I have scanner that we use for all the other cars and don't know if that would work on the Audi.

Thanks

The temp display shows the outside temp on the dash and it's some what close to the actual temp out side. On the temp controller, it shows where ever I set it around 72-74.

Thanks

Guys, I checked for snow flakes and there aren't any on the dash. I can feel the AC working well. It just shows the outside temp!!!!

Thanks
