Default Power estimate

Ok while I'm waiting for a new job to happen I have to much time on my hands and can only think about what to do with the car I want. So I've been searching the forums a lot and I have list of mods I'd like to do. At first i was thinking that I wouldn't want to change out the turbo but it looks like its something I'd like to do as probably the last thing. Now the specifics aren't something I'm totally sure on. This is for a 1.8T BTW.

Now the list goes as is:

-CAI + heat shield
-Chip
-Exhaust (either 2.5" or 3" depending on how much for the turbo)
-Exhaust manifold with t3/t4 fitting
-t3/t4 turbo upgrade
-FMIC

Of course I know there are supporting mods that I have to do in order for that all to work such as injectors and gauges and other such things. But I wanted to know what kind of power I could expect out of this car with those mods and bolts on of course. Thanks. I'm just looking to make a plan for the car and I'd like to get feed back on my thoughts while I have so much time on my hands.

well if you order everthing right now and things go smooth with the install, figure a week for shipping, chip, fmic and CAI/heatshield 2 days max. exhaust mani + turbo one/two day. exhaust another day depending on if you're getting testpipe. this is mostly judging that everything goes pretty much smooth and nothing breaks. you should spray the crap outa your bolts with pb while you wait for parts. now if you had another person helping you, things would go a bit smoother usually lol. i think 2.5 weeks for shipping + work is way more than enough time. if you can get someone who's already done a turbo swap, you can do everything rly fast lol

Now the list goes as is:

-CAI + heat shield don't do pre-turbo
-Chip if you are doing turbo upgrade soon, wait on this
-Exhaust (either 2.5" or 3" depending on how much for the turbo) tp w/ custom pipe into muffler will save you 4-500
-Exhaust manifold with t3/t4 fitting
-t3/t4 turbo upgrade
-FMIC again wait till you have the turbo and look at spending close to a grand

oh yes yes. I'm talking about this all being done at the same time. I don't even have the car yet. This is the plan. LOL. Everything would be after the turbo upgrade. So lets figure from that. Anything else that would be a good idea to get. Also would the exhaust need to be 3" or should i stay 2.5". Also the t3/t4 is a dime a dozen turbo but is it a good turbo?

you will need:
1) t3/t4
2) full exhaust
3) clutch (flywheel highly recommended)
4) downpipe (w/ cat if you want to pass emissions)
5) exhaust manifold
6) injectors and fuel pump
7) tuning
8) front mount intercooler
9) fuel pressure regulator
10) wastegate
11) bigger maf
12) flowstack or some sort of intake/air filter
13) suspension
14) big brakes
15) oil lines for turbo
16) diverter or blowoff valve
17) electronic boost controller
18) turbo timer
19) boost gauge

i probably forgot some things but thats damn near close to it... expect to spend alot more money than people on here will tell you it cost.

3" exhaust, t3/t4 are good turbos yes... as long as you stay with a good brand. ie garrett

and actually, they are roughly $7800 a dozen

Ok thats what I figured. that would be the end results of my efforts put forth to the car. This isn't the starting point (well it sort of it) but the end result I'm looking for. But that looks pretty good as far as a list.

t3t4 kit - $2700-3200 (includes chip and fueling)
Clutch - $600-800
catback - $600-900
fmic - $400-1000

Then the other stuff that is a good idea like said above, brakes, suspension, etc.

A 50trim will net you between 300-375whp depending on turbine and other mods.

OK sounds good. thats more of what I'm looking for. Now that "kit" that you said cost around $3000. Is there and actual kit or is just what would make up a kit.

I dont know of any "kit" offered by anyone, you kind of have to build your own kit. Its fun though, picking what compenets you will run instead of just getting what someone else thought was good.
