problem to take out the alternator
Hello Guys!
I was trying to replace my alternator today but managed to take the top bolt on the alternator but the bottom one I couldn't take the bolt out as the fan is in the way of the bolt.
does any one know how to take the bolt out because without taking the bolt out I cannot replace the alternator.
Please help me
btw I have a 2001 A4 1.8T
Thank you

You pretty much need to pull the whole front off the car similar to as if you're preparing to doing a timing belt replacement job. That will make the alternator replacement job much easier. While you're at it, you might as well replace any other worn or broken stuff on the front side of the engine to save on future labor effort since it's kind of a hassle to take it all apart.

there are a lot of tech articles stated that 1.8 cars don't need to take all the parts of the front. Do I really need to take the front bumper off?
even I do take the front bumper off the fan is still in front of the alternator's bolt does any one can give me a help?
