ok i drained all the coolant from the radiatior drain plug but i cannot get the drain plug off the bottom of the engine block its on way to tight and i have a shitty allen wrench.. how big of a deal is it if i just flush it with water and not drain however much is in the engine block. next , i bought purple g12 + coolant from here http://www.blauparts.com/audi/audi_f...pleaudicoolant

and im not sure if i have enough i bought 1 bottle because i figured it would tell you if you needed 2 or more which it doesnt. thanks in advance

 

oh ya the bottle is 1.5L and so mixing it 50-50 would make 3 Liters obv but would that be enough to reach the middle of min - max level? bare with me i just got my audi i dont know anything about them

 

Yes that would be fine, you don't need to get all the coolant out of the block because its a life time coolant anyway. The coolant system only holds about a gallon, so you have enough mixed with water at a 50/50 rate.

well i ran into another problem.. i cant get to the rear coolant pipe to bleed the air , theres a few hoses in the way which im not sure what they do and it fairly deep down would need a pretty big allen wrench i read in another thread that you might be able to just leave tthe cap off the coolant tank , would this work or do i have to use the bleeder screws?

 

I've always used the (easy to access) one in front of the block and let it purge itself and never had a problem.

It also doesn't help that when the rear tube was replaced under warranty, the guys (in MA) stripped the allen plug, so even trying is fruitless until I change that tube, which won't happen unless it leaks! So even if I wanted to purge there, I can't.

Leaving the cap off of the exansion tank is more than enough to bleed the system.
