Quattro feels loose in snow. Tire issue?
97 1.8T QM feels loose in the snow. On Dry roads the car feels tight. I have Goodyear assurance triple tread tires. Does anyone have experience with this tire and if so, did you change to another all season or do you use snow tires. Or could I have suspension issues. Current setup is stock, and like I said the car does not feel like I have worn out suspension parts. Thanks.

what do you mean by "loose?"
I have two year old Bridgestone HP550's with ~30k miles on them and even with Quattro, in as much snow as we've got in DC right now, my car is more a sled than anything else. How many miles are on your tires?

i'm running snow tires and i lub dem. and like CCA asked, what do you mean by loose? this is my 3rd winter with this car and it's always slide around a little bit in heavy snow but i don't think i've ever felt a loose feeling. lose control when i want to yes but i don't think i've ever turned my wheel without my car responding when i want it to.

Loose as in the car shimmies side to side a bit on snow covered roads. Mostly when there is snow that has been washed into the packed snow lanes. Does not give me that reassuring traction feeling. Never lost control, but the car does not feel like a tank as others have described. Thanks for your info.

^ Ditto. Probably the tires... although GY triple treads are pretty decent tires, you can't really match a true winter tire. I run Blizzaks, and they work very well (Blizzaks on hardpack feels like street tires on dry pavement).
I always scare the crap out of first time passengers when I go flying around snowpacked and icy corners. Once you get used to having all that traction you don't even really pay attention to the road surface anymore, and just drive like normal.
