Default Quick Headlight Question

So I bought HID's (55w 6000k) because my normal h7's just werent bright enough for me. After I installed them earlier tonight, I went to adjust them because they just didnt seem like I was getting much better distance than with my stocks. I tried turning the two adjustment points on each headlamp but with little success. It seems that turning those affects my highbeams more than my driving lights. I just can't seem to get them on point. It looks as if my left side is so much more brighter than my right and houses on the left are getting more light than the road in front of me. I installed the bulbs correctly and everything, I'm just trying to find out if there is anything else I can do. Maybe there's a technique that I just don't know. Thanks guys...

Are you sure you're adjusting the correct adjustment point?

There is one for the high beam and there's another one dedicated for the low beam. The two are different.

Yeah, there should only be 2 visible ***** from the top. The one you need to adjust is the one located on the outer part (closer to the side markers/signals).

However, it's a pretty common problem that the adjuster is broken. When this happens, you won't be able to adjust it from the ***** visible on the top but the one that's visible from the back part of the headlights.

So I watched the little gears turning and it looks as if the adjuster gear (the one I actually turn) skips and will sometimes grab. Is it ok for me to just turn it with pliers? I really can't drive with the left light pointing to the way way left like it does...I light up the next 2 lanes to my left in front of me and barely in front of my car...

So my headlights officially suck...Do you think remvoing them and turning the **** manually will work or am I in the market for new lights. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I have the stock healdights that came with an 01. Think an upgrade would help out. I look at some people's pics and they can see so damn far down the road and mine just light up barely infront of my car...

I'm right there with ya, my low beams are so outta whack that unless im in the city i have to turn on my fogs so i can see. I've tried adjusting them too without any real luck. Probably just a total coincidence but i have an 01 with the stock headlights too.

Hey Joenelson did you ever get it figured out?? I just got done coming inside from messing around with it. I was playing with the adjustment on the low beams mine are located closer to the engine. Dont know if they changed from 99.5 to 01 but ya. My right side is kinda similiar to what you are saying..I can keep turning it and sometimes it will catch the gear but slip again.. I tried using pliers to turn it and it works but you have to be verryy careful because its hallowed inside and it WILL crack. I did get a couple turns with my hands tho.

Also Where did you buy your HIDs from? Im looking for the same exact setup 55w
6000k D2R. I was thinking bout getting from DDM, but everyone says their shipping suckkss. My right side is out and i tested the bulb on the other side and it works, its prob the ballast. Im driving with one eye out.
