Doesn't look like it. It doesn't even look like it has the plastic part that is usually connected to the back and gives the bumper skin support. If it was there you would be able to see it thru the head light sprayer hole.

Hi Mike, do I need the support? The only thing that's cracked on mine is the front bumper cover in the corner. Although someone did advised the support and cover are one piece. If I buy this item from kr1snarowsk1, how will this fit on my '99.5? Thanks in advance.

No you dont need the support if you have another way to mount the bumper since you wont be able to use the 2 front bumper bolts if you dont have the support.

If you already have a bumper you can always take the support out of that one and find a way to fasten it to the new skin. If not you can always make a bracket that cages the bumper shock and has a nut on the top.

You also have to deal with the clip part near the end of the bumper where it meets the fender. If it doesn't have the clips you will have to find a way to screw the bumper to the fender mounting location.

Yes Mike, I was planning on re-using my support bar which is intact and in good condition. I'll keep in mind your pointers on the installation.

kr1snarowsk1, I've located a salvage yard in New Jersey that has a front bumper cover for a 2000 model. The only thing is, they say it's missing moldings? I have no clue, I'm guessing the grilles are gone and so are the washer caps which I do have. I'm going to check it out first because I like the idea of having the fog brackets already in place. If by any reason it doesn't go through, I'll go with your bumper. I'll let you know by 12 noon on Saturday. Can I have your number just in case I end up driving to CT? You can PM me if you want. Thanks.

Unfortunately, mounting the new bumper cover requires epoxy and some zip ties. As stated earlier, it can create some undesirable fit and finish.

Thanks Tweaked & Mike, I'll try and post information on this install as it progresses. Maybe a write up, I haven't seen anything like this on the web so far. Thanks for the information guys.

kr1snarowsk1, I went to see the bumper in Jersey and it was in horrible shape. There is a plastic bezel that looks like it attaches the support to the bumper and it was all cracked. I took my bumper off this weekend and I finally understand how the support and bumper is one piece. I have decided to get the entire piece from Shokan instead because I want an OEM fit, instead of me trying to use epoxy and zip ties to get the cover on my support. I know I won't be able to get it to fit right instead of me getting the entire assembly.
