so i found this random button in my car today and idk what its for, it is on the lower part of the pillar between my driver door and rear driver side door. its square button with and has a picture of i think a box and three lines or something? its clicks but i notice nothing happen when i push it. and help with this random button? thanks

 

As I recall this button turns your interior alarm system on/off.

But yeah it's for your alarm. The motion sensors are at the top of the B pillars

 

Damn I always though that it was the secret button that you would press to get free HBO...

 

Mine doesn't work... AKA, leave the windows down and the alarm set, and I'm coming back to honking horns and blinking light, whether I hit the button or not...

 

When you press it a light at the top of the button will turn on and the light near the driver's door pin will blink differently after you lock the car IIRC. I also think you have to press it with the driver's door open and lock it right after for it to work.

 

^^This. All the doors, trunk, hood have to be closed except the driver's door. Push the button, close the driver's door and lock it. The LED by the door lock (or the one on the dash if you're pre-facelift) will blink rapidly for 2-3 seconds indicating that everything worked properly. If you unlock the car or open any of the doors, you gotta re-do the whole process

 

well the button doesnt blink when i press it but i will see if the dash light blinks next time
