Default Ready to start tuning, 300 whp

Okay well I have had my car for a year now and well its way past time to start the modding process. This summer will be simple **** like wheels, coilovers, re-paint my front and rear bumper (I am going to be going for a sleeper look) headlights, etc... Nothing big but what I am looking for is some advice. I don't want the typical chip I want more power. I have contacted 034 Motorsport tuning and have a quote, I really like the tune and the price is good for what I have been looking at. The tune brings me to 300 whp. The only thing I am worried about is that the tune includes not internal mods. I am not familiar with what the cars internals can handle because my experience in a dealership only left me with stock knowledge. So I am wondering what A4 internals can handle? The guys told me that 300 would be no problem but I wanted to get an overall idea of what people thought was good. In total the cost would be 8000. That is turbo upgrade, larger injectors, clutch, flywheel and all of the fixings to complete the build. So what is the deal? Reasonable? PS My car with probably have 130k once its time to tune. The guy at 034 told me that he did this same tune with his car at 165k and its been 30k and it was fine, so idk.

They're probably setting you up with a gt2871 eliminator.... that setup will work fine on stock internals. The guys at 034 are one of the best resources for Audi tuning right now, so I'd definitely trust their word.

Once you get into the aggressive gt2871 (t3 flanged) sized turbos and above you'll want to replace your rods. pistons don't really need to be replaced unless there is a problem with them, they're forged and have been said to be able to handle 800hp.

Are you having them do the work for you or is that just parts cost?

I actually think that it was a parts quote, idk what to expect hours wise. They are going to be running a stand alone so I dont think I really want to mess with that. I am guessing its 100/hr but idk how many hours something like this would cost. Any ideas?

eight grand for 300whp? that better be including labor. and still thats rediculous. you dont need a stand alone setup for a 2871 elim.

drop your pants and bend over.

So tool bags what do you suggest? I like the stand alone because this is just the start of my building, eventually once im out of school I want to go forged internals and put some ridiculous power down. But anyways I want about 300 wheel, so what are the suggestions. Ps I am will want to do a clutch, fly and brake upgrade as well. So guys lets hear it. Thanks

If you spenk $8k or $100 w/o knowing what you are getting, you are retarded. For that price, you deff shouldnt be getting a elim pos but a real setup and an engine rebuild. 034 is good people, but you cant just go blindly into a build and have 0 idea what you are getting into

Yeah you guys seem to be missing the fact that I got the quote yesterday and thats why I am here. To find out if this is good quote or bs, I have heard good things about 034 but nothing about this kit. Hence the reason I am hear because I am not retarded and I want to find out what is out there and what is reasonable before I jump into anything. I am a year away from doing this so I have lots of time to figure out exactly what i wanna do.

well what exactly is included in this $8k kit? 034 is a good company and they certainly know what they are doing, but your goals can be accomplished for much less money. and 034 arent known for being cheap. i suggest going over to audizine forums and taking a look at the projects and builds subforum, and read the engine modification sticky on here, specifically the turbo comparison part and the software/chip part.

basicly, if you want to be able to go to a shop, drop your keys off, and pick your car up with 300whp and never have to think about it, regardless of money, 034 is the way to go. if you care about value and can do some of the work yourself, buying the parts and putting together the kit yourself would save you a load of cash.
