Really Bad! I think

Yea, it was a black pipe on the passenger side under the bumper and it was seperated at the joint so i taped the pipes together. I hope that fixes the problem. I can get the codes cleared at an Auto Zone or Napa right?

the people at auto zone will not clear the code for me... if the problem is solved will it clear itself? and how long?

It won't clear itself, you can try removing both battery cables for a few minutes, but that usually never works on an OBDII car. I suggest buying a vag com www.ross-tech.com or a cheap code reader for $50. They pretty much pay for themselves the first time you need it.

yeah they're not allowed to clear the code, rules of autozone. i'd buy the ebay cable and use the freeware for vag com. you can clear codes and many other things but you need a laptop. autozone has a code reader you can loan for like $120 but you get all your money back when you return it.

You could try a different store. Some let you rent the tool (you give them a check or something which they return to you after you give it back) and you can erase the codes yourself. You might as well buy a VAG though, they are so cheap and always come in handy.
