Default a really good software for diy
It is Alldata an u can get the program at www.autozone.com is $26.95/year but will save you a lot of time for diy repairs i've been using this program for 7 years now and i can say it is worth every penny

this is the direct link http://www.alldatadiy.com/ it can be bought online and accesed online from anyware ever from a smart phone i use my htc hd2 and it works perfect

vagcom is $20 on ebay and no one wants knock off software. period

Alldata isn't knockoff software. It's what most auto repair shops & stealerships use for reference for maintenance.

Alldata leaves important info out and in the case of the 01 A8L there are torque specs for timing components that are switched for bolts that can't the higher torque.

Alldata isn't as complete as you would think and not all dealerships use alldata because its lacking alot of information. They do use Mitchell on demand which is alot better.

Even if the info is not there u just email then with the question and they reply right back in matter of min, Mitchel on demanand is very expensive for diy guy

Once a source of information causes u to snap a bolt off in the ******* block of a 70k$ car it's kinda hard to continue to trust them.

Yeah I would have a tough time trusting any of the info after that. Especially because engine-related torque specs are so important (IMO, anyway)
