Default Rear Brake Removal

Was just changing my rotars and pads and saw the rubber sleeve surrounding the piston is ruptured. Since the emergency brake is hooked in to it I was hopeing for some guidance or tips on how to remove the rear caliper easily. Thaks in advance.

To change the seal around the piston? You need to twist the piston all the way out to change the seal. Its a PITA to get back in too.

I completely removed mine. I used an air compressor to get the piston out. You can rent a brake kit from Autozone. You put down a deposit of $100 or so and when you return it, they give you your entire deposit back. ECS tuning has brake rebuild kits with the seals.

If I remember correctly, you can pop the spring out then the cable is much easier to remove. Obviously the e-brake should not be engaged
