one last question... if I only changed the damaged spring for now as a temporary fix... how would that affect the car?

You should take bogie on his offer. Then you can just spend $100 and do that corner. Since its the rear, itshould be much easier than the front. Also not alignment will be needed

 

Since you bought them, you have to install all 4. You could try contacting the seller and beg out of the sale. At worst he may charge you a relisting fee. Thats like $5

My wife would be pissed at me if we did them here, but she'd get over it pretty quick I think. I'd do it if it was ona Saturday or Sunday. If it's cold, we can pull your car in my garage, and I got a compressor in there. How does an extra $50 for the install plus beer sound?
