I too would love to have one but I've never seen a definitive answer. Most just say its gonna be trouble or they think its going to be hard. Well I agree since it is German electronics. But it would be great to have on those cold winter mornings.

They are never recommended for manual cars since if you left it in gear and then tried to start the car, it could jump into your garage door.

I've installed two of them for friends. They aren't that hard, but its a bit time consuming. The ones I did were probably lower end ones, but they worked fine and came with an instructional VHS tape which was nice. Its a bit of a PITA splicing the unit into your ignition wires as you are stripping the sheathing back without cutting the wires themselves. Also, you are sitting on your head with your feet in the backseat while you are under the dash for much longer than you would want to do something like that.

In all the two people I put them in for loved them. Now that I moved back up north, I would consider installing one on my manual car. You just need to be extra careful not to leave it in gear.

FYI, you may need to buy another unit for bypassing your alarm system in addition to the car starter itself.
