Default Removing Cats?

Hey i tried searching and couldn't really find anything but i live in a county with no emissions and wanna remove my cats and just put a straight pipe in. and was wondering if it will make my car run worse due to the c02 censors and stuff. Also how much louder will it be?

It won't run worse, it won't sound notably louder (a bit, however), and it will smell bad and make people want to hurt you. It will save you a few horsepower and a small amount of weight and be totally not worth it.

are you talking about putting in a test pipe? it will add around 10-15hp and like 30-40lbs torque. helps your turbo spool up a little faster as well. youll probably have to do anti fouler mod to it so you dont get a cel too.

Well I'm pretty sure my cat is already gone bad and I'm not gonna pay for anew one I would rather just leave it out. I know it gives a little hp and torque but I'm worried about it throwing a constant cel. What's the anti fouled mod all about

straight from 034's website

"This stainless and mandrel bent 3" racing downpipe replaces the restrictive catalytic converter located behind the turbo on longitudinally mounted 1.8T engines. The downpipe has a large 3" opening to increase turbo efficiency and is surprisingly silent when used with the stock exhaust system in place. Expect spool-up to arrive 200 to 400 rpm earlier, and at least 40ft/lb of torque to the wheels!!

Typical horsepower gains range from 10hp+ with a stock turbo, 15hp+ with a K04, and 30-40 horsepower when combined with a GT28RS or larger turbo. Includes provisions for factory oxygen sensors. --For OFF-ROAD use only! "

its true, the difference between a stock car with a chip and the same car with a test pipe is about 35ft lb of torque and a little quicker spool.
