Hey just throwing this out there: I have a really modern remote for models after 2005, its that nice modern switchblade one... anyway I know the immobilizer wouldn't work but would the remote itself be programmable for a B5? Thanks.

What you do is use your normal key to put the ignition switch to "on" but don't start it, then get out and lock the doors with the blade of your new key, then hold the unlock and lock buttons on the remote key at the same time for like five seconds - it should flash the lights and honk the horn, but when I did it mine didn't. I thought it didn't work, but I hit the unlock button and bam! doors unlocked. It was that simple, and yet they were going to charge me an arm and a leg to do it.
hi.
My Key (metal part) is broken for 2001 audi a4 2.8. Do you know if I can move the transmitter to a key fob shell case and cut the key to it. Thank you in advance
