Is their any write ups on how to replace the passenger side cv joint?

www.blauparts.com for the kit... 100 bucks.

check the stickies under maintenance for a downloadable copy of the bentley manual. There is a write up in there.

People have issues with replacement axles because there are different but similar size axles available so some brands like Empi do not always give you the right part. They don't seem to differentiate them as well as they should.

plus, the inner CV rarely goes bad, so by replacing the entire axel, you're in essence, doing twice the amount of work.

IMO cheaper and easier to replace the entire thing. rebuilding a cv joint is a pain in the *** and messy

Not if you get one of the mismanufactured axles like dragonrage mentioned. We went through that here - six bad axles in a week. He bought a cv rebuild kit and it was actually very simple and quick - less than an hour from lifting the car to test-driving it afterward.

northside imports is a good company they are cheap and if theres one near you, you can get them to negotiate the price and replace the whole thing like others said i had a 96 2.8q and got the axle and cv joint etc for 75 bucks it takes about 30 minutes to do
