replacing the lame car phone plug for a usb one?
 

has anyone ever tried this? i am thinking that replacing the phone adapter in the center console for a usb port would allow for an ipod or something without having to go through a lot of grief and rewiring.
thoughts?

I was thinking the same thing so I would be able to charge my headset there.

is there always power to that thing?

Well mine is a pre-99 and Ive got it.

i will have to check, but i dont think that i have it
when i bought the car the dealer told me that the arm rest was replaced cuz it was cracked or something. maybe the new one didnt come with the phone plug anymore
