Riegar RS4 Bumper $375 Paint Price?
Hey guys,
Riegar RS4 front came in the mail this morning.
A guy my family knows is asking 375 for install and paint.
(he says he will paint the bumper while it is off of the car)
Is this a good price? ive never done anything like this. i thought it would be around 250 considering you can get a med. quality paint job for around a grand.
He wants to do it tomarro so....
Thanks guys.

That's the average body shop price including install, maybe alittle on the high priced side. depends on how much prep work the bumper needs.
It's definately not buddy-buddy value pricing if that's what's you're asking.

its not that bad of a price. you get what you pay for unless you really know them. dont do maaco or anything like that. also, its good to paint it off the car for issues with overspray if you dont do good prep work. also, make sure its audi paint so it matches versus just using a general black or silver ya know?
the install part is not too difficult for bumpers/valances. its also an issue if you paint the bumper when its off the car because you may scratch it when installing it. test fit it first!

Tell this buddy of yours it would be niice if he didnt rape you... Thats a steep price at any local dealership near to where i live i got a quote of 350 for a entire body kit with color matching paint and install... Personally DIY is the way to go you could take that money and dress up your engine with something... or else where
now 350 for an entire body kit is SUPER CHEAP. you wont find that good of a deal anywhere let alone just for paint. and then the install is even more. that is a good deal so long as its good paint and good prep work.
ive seen anywhere from $600-$1000+ for good paint jobs/installs for full body kits around here.

like i said earlier, the pricing, if from a body shop, sounds like 3 stage paint (prime base and clear) with some time figured for fitment and prep work. it's not a terrible price, and if the guy does good work I'd go for it.
DIY is always the best option, IF you have the skillset and the space. painting of a front bumper can take some space.

Thanks guys,
This guy has done some work for my father in the past and it has come out rather well. I just wasnt expecting it to be THAT much. lol. Theres no way i can DIY paint because im still living at home and my father would kill me. Maby i can save some cash by installing the bumper myself after he paints it.

paint that was used was 3m color matching paint for me (Brilliant Black) and Install for kit... but I still didnt bite, just did DIY and i used the extra money for my FMIC...
3m is the only paint used by all car company dealerships n the harrisonburg area... or that is what ive been told by a few dealers... prep, coats, clears
and yes apparently i should of taken advantage of this deal on my kit, but im giving my car a new paint scheme in a few months so
im fine with my o.k. diy...
