Yea, after talking with my brother it has become obvious that him and his friends messed with the car more then orginally discribed. I am still curious if the computer is the correct one or not. If not this may get worse before it gets better.

As for the maf wires, they have them wired up by color matching, but there is a black wire on the car harness that has no place to go in the plug, I have used Google to try and find a diagram so I can solder it all back together but have been less then fortunate with finding a good diagram.

I will look up the correct wiring diagram for you this afternoon.

As far as the ECU, just to confirm, the car is a 2001 1.8T Quattro manual? Or automatic?

Connector pins:

2: Green/yellow
3: Yellow
4: White/green
5: Green

It appears that that black wire is a shielded ground wire (see the common connected #200) that leads back to the ECU.

Thank you for the diagram.

Ok, I got the MAF wiring corrected. It still throws the same codes. I drove it to the store the other day to see if anything had changed and it had not. Still no power, surging idle, no boost, and when I give it gas it acts like I never touched the pedal.

Figure I may as well take apart the whole intake and i/c piping and check it all out. Then I will leak test it.

Any other ideas?

I know this thread is a few years old but I having very similar problem with my 2004 a4 1.8t. After I replaced my crank case breather hose the car started throwing p0237. The symptoms sound very similar.. Did you ever find the problem? I
