I was wondering if it would be possible, or practical, to drop the 2.7tt from an S4 or A6 into my 2001 2.8 A4. I've been looking at Audis for a while now, but am somewhat of a noob when it comes to cars. What would I need to get this done, how much would it cost to get it done professionally, and is it even worth it?

do some research man! i remember i wanted to do this as well, did some searching around and found that it was inpractical! its way cheaper! (specially now that the b5 s4s are so cheap) to just sell the 2.8 and buy the s4! you'll be spending like $5k for the swap! what i would do if i had 5g's laying around , is s/c the 2.8!

 

normally i would say i dont mean to be a dick when i respond to an obvious post, but this one is just asking for it. this topic has been covered more times than years you have been born. i know you have an amazing two posts on AF, but for God's sake, use the search function.

 

as for your questions... if you have to ask, you cant afford it! it isnt practical or cost friendly to do the swap. ive been looking at audis for a long time too and have wondered if i can swap a rs6 v10 into my b5 s4. sure i can, but it would cost more money than the rs6 itself. pleasre do at least some research before posting
