S4 springs & struts on my 01' 2.8q sport
I'm looking to buy a set of stock B5 s4 springs and struts to put on my 2001 A4 2.8q sport. It already has the sport suspension, but I want a little more and I would like to lower it a bit (let me know if this is a bad idea or if there is a better option at a comparable price). I've searched around the forum and am having trouble getting a definitive answer as to how much it would actually lower my car. Would it lower the car the same amount in the front and the back? And how much would I be sacrificing ride quality?
Also, does anyone have any advice on where to get these springs and struts for a good price? I live in Northern California, but online ordering is fine too.

You will be unhappy with the front wheel gap if you do this, it's a promise. A guy just did this the other day and is selling his setup. Stick with A4 specific suspension components if you drive an A4. Read the modifications and maint. sticky.

bad idea. those springs are designed for the weight of the 2.7 motor. if you just want it to be lower just get springs. if you care about handling and ride comfort too, get the struts as well.
h&r or bilstein are good. or you can get vmaxx coilover for a really good price

sry in advance for the probable thread jack!
hmmmm, this sucks! I have a buddy of mine thats getting a suspension upgrade and he's gonna give me the one on his car currently 2001 S4 6sp, and my car is 1999 A4 2.8 5sp is this gonna happen to me? because if so i dont want to have my front hiegher than my back. what can i do so that it doesnt sit hiegher in the front other than gettin an aftermarket suspension kit?

I was told that the S4 suspension wasn't THAT much better than the sport suspension in the first place, but what you can do is run S4 shocks with H&R springs up front. You can put the full S4 setup on the rear because the rear end of the S4 and the A4 are approx. the same weight.

I like that idea. but if you say that its not much better than the a4 sport then maybe i'll save my money and put it toward something else. any idea how much that setup would cost me?

Not a clue. For right now I'm happy with my suspension (I have sport suspension too) and what I'm focusing on is the motor. I have GOT to figure out a way to make a 30v powerful. I'm leaning toward a Garrett GT22 turbo, but I'm not entirely sure .

i would love to see where you fit a turbo in there
but yea to the origional question, there was a thread the other day about someone who put S4 springs on his a4 and wondered why his front end was actualy 1/4" higher then when he had stock springs on. if you already have a sport suspension your not going to gain anything from the swap.

i think there's a 01 a4 in a junk yard near me, i can go get those coilovers and put them in the fron and use the s4's in the back... what do you think? (by the way im pretty sure i have the comfort suspension, any idea how to tell?) should be some kind of package and should be somewhere in that sticker in the trunk, i just dont know what im looking for! lol
