Can I really just go to Auto Zone and ask them to scan it for me without paying? I feel like I have to buy some oil for just stopped by. I called a couple shops today and they said they were backed up for several days if I wanted to make an appointment..

Some shops will want to do it for you but others will just take ur id while u go do it.

I finally got around to getting the code today. It read:

P1476
EVAP Emission Control System LDP
System Circuit
Malfunction/Insufficient Vacuum

Should I be worried about this?

I'm pretty sure this code relates to the canister tho. A vacuum leak of sorts can be the culprit. look under the hood, do you see cloth looking lines scattered through out?
