(1997 a4) So I live in the city and need to commute outside to get to work. Any tips on how to secure it besides taking the radio face off and not leaving anything in view. I have the alarm and the motion sensors on and the windows tinted

It sounds like you will be fine. Just keep things of value out of plain sight...

i was listening to the radio and heard about window vin etching, the ad said it had been proven to deter thieves and also lower your insurance, just another thing b/c you already seem like you do a lot

I'm not sure if window etching will lower your insurance. I've heard from many sources that most dealers offer a VIN-etching service using a third party, but most of that is pure profit. IMO, not worth it. Definitely look into Lo-Jack.

Best thing you can do is make sure you have full coverage insurance.. and let them know of any mods you have..

If a theif wants your car, a theif will get your car..

+1

but my insurance company doesn't care about the mods till i have to have something fixed and when i had statefarm, i had over 4 grand in stereo, i called and asked if they wanted to document it,my agent that is, they said no........ my truck got broke into and the people who actually pay you out want reciepts...... so i would take pix of it in your vehicle and stuff and save a copy and send a copy to claims
