Default Sedan vs Avant mechanical differences?

Other then the body style, are there any mechanical differences from the Sedan to the Avant? Other then the obvious longer driveshaft, etc.

Is the gearing the same, same rear brakes, etc.

Most things are the same, especially mechanically.
Are you sure the Avant has a longer driveshaft? I could be way off but I would guess it should be the same as the sedan, along with the rest of the driveline.

Rear springs should be stiffer for the Avant, maybe rear struts too. Otherwise all rear suspension/brakes are the same.

Front ends should be identical between Avant/sedan.

Some electronics are different for the Avant, including stereo speaker arrangement, subwoofer, amplifier, etc. The key FOB is different (I think) since it has a 3rd button to pop open the hatch.

No I'm not sure the drive shaft is longer, but I would guess that it is since it is in the A6 and vw wagon models.
