Default Selecting an ECU chip.

Hey, I'm looking to get a Stage 1 ECU chip for my 2000 A4 1.8 ATW. Reason being I just put a test pipe in and wanted to get a tune to remove the o2 sensors from my map. I don't want to spend a lot of money, so this was the chip I was looking at:Stage 1 Performance Chip . I don't know a lot about ECU upgrades, so I was wondering if this chip would be able to have a program uploaded to it. Thoughts?

I dunno man I'd stay away from that. If you want a tune, save up some cash and go with APR or GIAC or Unitronics or one of the other well known dealers. That place just sounds shady.

If all you're looking to do is get rid of the CEL from your secondary O2 sensor, that can be done by adding a J-bung and/or jets to your test pipe. Both can be had from RAI motorsports out of MD.

Yeah i defiently wouldn't buy that, go APR or GIAC. I did the 93 octane stage 1 chip a couple days ago, i went with APR, and im happy with what i got and its on spec on what i have read about it. Also ECSTUNING is running a special on that one now, its 449 for 1 program or 499 for all 3 which is also a good deal. I decided to save the 50$ and buy a DV with that as im fine with just having a 93 octane tune all the time.

Thanks guys. @CCA4, do you know the sucess rate for the threaded jet and/or the j bung? I've used the non-foulers with no luck, and they both look pretty similar.

Far as I've heard the J-bung works great. It can be a bit of a process to find the right jet, its gotta be small enough to keep the secondary o2 sensor from throwing a cat inefficiency code, but not too small that it throws a low input code instead lol
