Default Settle and exhaust argument

Ok here it is, the resonator on the 1.8t Exhaust. Does it need to be there or is it just a big can for sound control.

I have beer riding on this one

So input appreciated

just for sound control. if you take it out, ti's less weight for the car plus you open the exhaust a bit. and there's no such thing as a S-line b5, there's only sports edition
