Default Shocking !!! headlights

Hi guys, i was driving down a country lane close to where i live last night and realised how shockingly crap the headlights are on A4's, i have a 99 pre-facelift B5 and was just wondering whether the facelift projector headlights will fit on mine and then i will get some super bright headlight bulbs, if they do fit are they a direct replacement?

Many thanks

Dan

It means this has been covered hundreds if not thousands of times, literally. So search your question before posting another thread on this topic.

Make sure that when you change your headlights to the "face lift" that you get the correct HID fluid

Many thanks for your friendly helpful advice, i did search it before posting my thread and could not find anything that stated that 1999.5 projector headlights will be a direct replacment for my cack 1999 pattern lights, all i was after was a simple YES or NO answer to whether they will fit, i found loads of threads within the link that were about upgrading to R8 style lights angel eyes etc etc, but nothing that really answered my question. Again many thanks for your friendly advice.

They'll fit, but you'll have to shave your fenders. There are DIYs on it and everything; it's one of the most popular discussions on any B5 forum: "Can I put facelift headlights in my pre-facelift B5?"

If you searched, I'm sorry, and I will give you the benefit of the doubt - maybe you misinterpreted your results.

Here is one of the many threads on this site discussing it:
https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=147626

Here is how you do it:
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext.html

Some people like to not have that amber coloring in the corner of the headlight - it's called having "clear corners." The mod would be the same if you wanted a direct OEM (original equipment manufacturer from your Audi dealer, a wrecked car, or wherever) headlight.

I hope that helps a little... Maybe we can put something about this in the newbie guide, or in a sticky post... it seems like this is one of the first questions people have when they join the forum.

i was always wondering if the part that needs to be shaved will be visible when the headlights are installed? i am considering doing this even though i was against it before LOL. does anyone have a picture of what exactly needs to be shaved off cuz in the DIY i cant really tell.
