Default should I buy this car?

Hello everyone, Im new and just want some opinions on a few things. I want to buy a 1999 audi a4 V6. I found one for $3200 with 92000 miles ,the kicker is the abs control module needs replaced and the engine spits and sputters somewhat. The guy said the abs controller is making the cars computer not function properly and a tune up and new controller will fix everything. Is this still a good deal or do this sound fishy? Is this a problem I can fix myself? Thanks

if you're lucky that's what's wrong (90% chance it is) but the ABS control module will set you back a few hundred if that's bad...

If the ABS module doesn't have an internal memory error (non-repairable) you can get it rebuilt for as little as $100 (Cheap-ABS.com). Most ABS module issues are repairable.
