Default Snub mount bolt wont go back in

Self explantory. I replaced my motor and snub mounts today. This included me getting it in the service position for the first time!

Well, the driver side snub mount bolt wont go back in. I can't seem to catch the thread of whatever's in there. I can see the threads so it's not totally stripped but they do look irregular.

Also, whatever i'm trying to bolt it into is moving!

Did I break something in there? Any ideas about getting this thing back in?

ONE bolt left to do in the whole job and I can't get it!!!

Thanks in advance-

not a very helpful reply i have to say. mounts is pluralized because the subject of the sentence is motor mounts and snub mounts.

I know there are no threads because I just did it. I said "Well, the driver side snub mount bolt wont go back in", snub mount bolt not just snub mount.

sorry if my post sounded mean, wasn't intended. but maybe some pictures would help. the snub sits on a rod thats mounted in the lower left hand corner of the engine. AFAIK it doesn't bolt, mine slid on with some pressure. when you put the red shroud back on it has a cage it goes in that will mate up with it.

first, thanks for clarifying your response.

Second, based on what you said I'm referring to what you're calling "the cage". The photo below shows the bolt I can't get back in. Thanks!

ahh thats the cage, but your cage should be round? mine was and i have a facelift? confirm that but that bolt should just thread into the rad support if its not, then something is stripped out.

exactly, i'm trying to figure out what that something is. My cage looks like the one in the picture.

The bolt doesn't bolt directly onto the radiator support. There's some kind of bracket or clip or something *inside* the hollow of the rad. support.

I don't know how to get at it.

Can you use a flat head to line the threads?

99.5's don't have round cages.
