I have the stock 4 inch tall audi symphony stereo system but the problem is that the speakers are really crappy. I'm not really looking to replace the head unit, since it looks and goes very well with the rest of the dashboard, it has agreat design. What I'm looking to do however is replace the speakers. Now my question is, what kind of speakers match the performance of my head unit? I do not know much about watts and ohms, output and all that stuff, but I would like to have great music quality in my ride using the same head unit. I would appreciate if someone would just give me the specs corresponding to a great pair of speakers. And by the way, how many speakers to I need to replace all together? from what I see, there are 2 in the back, 2 in the front, and 2 tweeters( is that how they're called,the small ones located by the door handles?) in the front? thanks

 

Audi stock speakers mount with a 3 point system, very different than what an aftermarket speaker comes as. You will need to make some sort of an adapter...



The speakers need to be 4 ohms so you should be ok there. But the new speakers will reveal the weakness of the Symphony head unit. Best to replace the head unit with the speakers.
