i am about to do a front to back, top to bottom fluid and filters change and was wondering if there were any special tools needed other than normal everyday household tools to change all these fluids and fliters? im going to do everything from the coolant, engine oil and filter, front and rear gearboxes, atf and filter, and also possibly the powersteering fluid....not sure on that one yet i may have to change the whole rack... need to inspect it further... so any and all info on these points will be appreciated...thanks

 

I believe the trans drain plug is 17mm allen, but you ought to be able to get that at any auto parts store if you don't already have one. Other than that I can't think of anything out of the ordinary

If you also plan on changing the fuel filter, you'll need a special 8mm 12 point tool to remove the bolt holding the filter to the gas tank. I just ordered one of these from germanautoparts.com for $17.00 including shipping.

ya i completely forgot about the fuel filter thanks for pointing that out ill have to add that to my list...

 

If the captured nut on the plastic fuel filter clamp strips out which 90% of them do use a hacksaw blade and cut the bolt in half and replace in with a new bolt and square nut. BE CAREFUL the gas tank is also plastic. If u undo the straps and pull the gas tank down put a 2x4 between the undercarrage and the tank it will save u some sanity.

What about a timing belt and water pump and such since you're doing some good maintenance? If it's about due (or you have no idea when the last time it was done) blauparts.com has a good TB kit with everything you need, and a special tools kit you can rent that will help you complete the whole job...

 

that is very true! i have that in the works also i jus have to wait for those parts to come in as well... its getting a complete damn nere overhaul because a PES G2 is in its near future dont want to run into any hiccups once i install that if you know what i mean....
