There's nothing you need to do for a 2.8 30v before or after getting only a speed tuning chip. During the tune up make sure your spark plugs are replaced with OEM plugs, oil changed with synthetic, all fluids topped off with the right stuff (check for leaks), filters changed, tires/suspension checked etc.. As far as I know, theres nothing necessary that needs to be done for preparing a 2.8 for a chip.

The search is your friend.

Why are you even wasting your money on a chip for a 2.8 anyways? youll probably get like 4hp..

I wasnt trying to start anything either, im trying to help you and im saying that a chip is a waste of money and just put into an intake or exhaust or something. by the way, a 1.8t has about 200hp after a chip

And according to about almost all the manufacters, the 2.8 has about 200hp as well after it's chipped...for half the cost of a 1.8t tune. So I don't see what the big arguement is.

He's already got an intake and exhaust (not sure if it's only the muffler or if it's the piping too)
I'll probably chip mine just to raise the rev limiter.

Well, so does the 2.8. It's worth it.

are you tip? if so you could get the speedtuning chip plus the GIAC tip chip, that would probably make a noticable difference when both are installed.
