Default Speedtuning!

Sent my ecu in on Weds and got it back today (Sat). Fast turn around.

Apparently I got "stage 2". Peak boost I've seen under heavy load is about 18psi. First things first... I honestly cannot determine which is "better", GIAC or Speedtuning, and there is no official way to determine that without a dyno... It's sort of hard to compare seeing as how GIAC is in a DBW, fwd, and tip car, and ST is in a DBC, awd, manual. I certainly don't lose traction with speedtuning from a dig like I do in the 2000 which is very nice. It pulls hard like GIAC down low and to about 5k rpms where it would normally crap out a little, and I really havent had a chance to get it on a road that is posted for more than 35mph yet. So far I'm loving it, and it's a completely new car. Since I'm used to GIAC it's not really something new for me, but damn, what a difference. I certainly wish I would have gone this route had I known about it a few years ago before I got GIAC. Again, it pulls hard just like GIAC, more tourquey than APR when full boost is reached hands down (i've driven an otherwise stock 98 APR chipped tqm several times.) APR is more smooth for sure though. Proabably the smoothest.

I'm super duper happy that I set the GB up and I hope everyone is as happy as I am. So far that seems to be the case.

Sounds like you got a good deal. Your 2 A4's couldnt be more different...LOL. I know the feeling about APR, i test drove a gti with a few bolt ons (turboback, brakes, intake) and my TT with just a diode was a good deal faster.

Thumbs up

Well I destroyed the stock DV with speedtuning today...LOL. The DV only lasted a day, got the ecu
in fri. (peak boost 12 psi), today am only seeing 4psi max and a vac about 7-8 Hg (15Hg yesterday).

I'd love to get both cars to the dyno sometime.

Sounds like the diaphram tore for sure. It was probably pretty toasted before the chip anyways. Get that fixed asap.

as i said in the stickied post, the chip is worth every penny. the service and wait was pretty shitty lol. i can't think of any words to describe it right now. thank god i have a 2.8 and don't have to worry about any dv haha. i have to say if another group buy happens, definitely be prepared to wait on your toes but once you get it back, you'll be so happy, you're gas gauge will go from 1/2 to 1/4 in 20 miles of flooring most of the time lol

Good to hear the 2.8 gets such a noticeable gain. Would be great if you could get it to a dyno.
