HMM.. I get what you guys are talking about but i guess I dont "get" it.
Purposely putting your tires and wheels like that kind of just reminds me too much of something like this:

and me no likey...
but hey that's just my opinion..

IMO that low rider is nothing like what they are talking about... same concept but Euro styling is traditionally all about the wide low stance I love form over function but cannot afford to roll in two cars

To an extend, I think you are right. Except the whole stretch look also incorporate rule of fitting (possibly) large(r) wheels.

Im all for big wheels, but I think I would rather roll my wheel arches flare modify or otherwise to fit the shoes rather than stretch skinny tires onto fat wheels.

^ Yeah, like I said some people like the look and some don't.

In general, it's also just a way of putting on wider wheels. A B5 wouldn't be able to have such wide wheels due to the body (as compared to B6 and B7) but with stretched tires, I've seen some B5's with 10's.

You can get 10" wheels onto regular narrow body B5's, without running tyres that don't fit.

Maybe high offset without lowering. I'm sure even 10 inches with regular et. 35 will rub once lowered with full squared tires on B5.
