My starter started acting funny last weeek. It would crank a couple times and then nothing. Then it would work fine. The next day it would work but then grind a little. The next day nothing.
According to the manual I have to remove the bumper, carrier lock in service position, etc. I haven't done those things before. I have the Bentley, but damn it's going to be cold tomorrow.
According to service records the starter has 60k on it, and the ignition switch was replaced like 3k ago. By symptoms it definitely seems like starter, but those questions creep up. Battery is near new. My car 98 a4qm30v with 193k. I know I'm being a whiner, but anyone know any shortcuts, etc? Thanks.
