Default Starting issues with 2001 A4 Quattro. Please help

Begging you all in the community to help this novice out with my Audi. It's been down for months now, while I was working on another project and busy with my job. But I really need to get it back to it's running condition, I miss her.

Anyways, down to the specs. So I have a B5 2001 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. For quite some time I was having issues when trying to start the car. I would start it, it would turn over, but no success in actually running. Then after another try, it would run..and operate just fine. Until it started misfiring after getting up to around 9lbs of boost, I believe misfire was in cylinder 1 (if that helps). So then the problem got worse, and it would start and then wouldn't start again unless I let it sit for hours or sometimes days...to a week. Now it simply rarely ever starts. I've checked my plugs, coils, 02 sensor, and need help narrowing down where the problem may be.

The car does have a stage 2 REVO kit on it, if that helps. And it does need new fuel injectors, which I thought may be the problem...but after testing, I'm not sure.

Could it be the crank position sensor? I thought this may be it, but it doesn't die while idle. I've search through the forums, for similar threads..and find start issues, but wanted to get some specific answers to my specific problems. I appreciate the help in advance.

My sons 96 2.8L A4 just went thru something similar, extended cranking (enough to kill the battery) but would run fine once started, and would restart while warm, but not when cold. It was a 15 dollar engine coolant temperature sender. Even though the gauge in the dash worked fine, the circuit connected to the ECM was bad, no codes were ever posted. Check it out, its one of the cheaper things to change.
