stereo is dead.. help!

my alternator gave out, replaced it, and now my stereo is dead. anyone know a solution to this? i am not even getting the security code prompt. if someone is in the fairfield county area and can fix this.. get at me!! you can make a quick $40

So when you plug it back in and hit the power button, does it stay dark or just say SAFE? It doesn't really 'prompt' you for the security code, you just enter it. If it's not powering up at all, then I would check the fuse.

yeah i try to turn it on and it stays off, does not say "SAFE"

My money is on the fuse, then.

FYI - the fuse on the BACK of the radio itself.

theres one on the panel with the rest of the fuses though too check that first. When this happened to mine i pulled the fuse and let it sit for a while, then when i plugged it back in it was fine.
