Sticky?
I hate to come back from the dead, making changes, and trying to act like your real dad and all that... But I was just thinking, do we really need the" 2001 Audi A4 1.8T Timing Belt Job In 5Min!" sticky? I think I put it there before to make Josh happy, and it is cool, but it's really just eye candy and nothing technical. Not even a writeup of any sort. I'm not sure we need it stuck there...? What do you think? We could merge it with a different sticky, but which one? Or just unstick it and see what happens... Your thoughts!? Just trying to make it clean.

I say move that video into the modifications/maintenance page. but make a new b5 picture gallery sticky so there aren't so many threads about new pictures taken and it'll be useful. and/or split up the "Official: Members & Their B5's" link back to three stickies
i completely agree
When I first got my a4 and found these forums I clicked that sticky, I watched the video and my jaw dropped as I realized what I had just gotten myself into. I can understand wanting to clean up the stickies but in a sense I find it's a good thing for everyone to get the German engineering experience right off the get go :P
I think there should be a seperate page for just stickies. It's annoying that almost half a page is taken up by some useless ****, and some useful **** that people skip right over and them make their own new thread about what chip they should get or what oil they should use or should they get a BOV.
Jus sayin
Jus sayin
I agree about a single link for the different stickies... It is sorta a mess.. I'm actually surprised nobody has done it while I've been out! Well, I stickied most of them so I guess I shouldn't feel like I'm stepping on toes if I change it up..? Hope not, cause I'm gunna DO it. We can always change it back if we get big protests from other members/mods.
just put the link in the maintenance thread that has all the other links.....
not to be a thread ****, but i kind of agree with faster on the whole oil/bov/noob ****
i think that if someone makes a noobish thread like the ones that have been answered a million times they need to be erased or merged, and a pm or email is sent to the poster directing them to the noobie section..... one thing i liked about this forum when i first got my car is it was the guide....... i feel like the noobs nowdays just post.... and the less than 100 post "senior" members are still noobs....

or if they have been around a while and show that they have knowledge
maybe i am way off, i don't know

We'll always have the noobs and their noob questions that are stickied and probably talked about 4 times on the 1st page. I think we've got to accept that.. I have compiled most of the stickes into the modifications - maint. - members sticky, now. It's cleaned up a lot, I think. As for the post count according to status/rank/title.. I've never even paid attention to that, and it's not something I could change if I wanted to.

Some of us just more reserved about our posts and comments. "Tread softly and carry a large stick", if you will.
