Default Strange HUD LED problem.

I have a 01 1.8t tip and its somewhat rainy down here in Texas (pretty heavy rain) and today I got some rain in my car when opening the doors, but not too much. Everything was fine, until I got home. I went to move my car after letting it sit for a few minutes, and before starting, I saw the temp gauge at the next line past middle. When I started the car, the display said the usual press brake to shift message, but when I put it in reverse the screen went blank, except for the gear selection, which had R highlighted. The ***** on the cluster worked, and the test that makes all the warnings come up worked fine too, so any ideas? Also, does everyone's Audi heat soak that much?
The radio was on in this picture as well.
Another thing, before I reset the ODO, I had driven 30 miles and had just filled up, so I killed almost an eighth of a tank. Anyone else getting similar miles?

I wouldn't worry about anything, your check engine light is still on so you're ok.

Phil, look at the pics. Its that center screen that shows the temp, mpgs, radio info, etc.
Thanks nick, I might just pull the battery and let the car reset, does that seem like a good idea?

The reset button? And would a battery pull wipe the learned fuel curves? I vented the stock DV one night for laughs and I'm pretty sure they got messed up. Never EVER do that. It was hilarious though..

Hah, I just went out and started mashing buttons and it turned back on. Thanks for the tip, learned something new.
