Default Stranges thing you've found in your car...

This thread won't apply for those of you who bought your B5 new, but for the rest of us going through the used market can turn up some pretty strange things.

I was going through my trunk today in prep for sound insulation installation and found this mystery box.

A Google search of the FCC ID indicates some sort of RF modulator, LoJack device, or remote start. It was Velcroed to the inside of the outer panel on the driver's side just above the alarm horn. The antenna is shown in the picture as taped to the outer panel with aluminum tape. Aside from the antenna, the only wires involved are a poorly done ground and a splice into a red wire with blue stripe.

I'm sure you guys have other strange things you have found in your cars.

I found 3 IBM branded plastic ponchos in my spare tire well, each in a sealed plastic bag. Why anybody would stuff those down there I don't know, hell, where would you even get those?

In my last car (328i) I found a keyless entry/alarm module behind the glovebox, it was just wired to power and ground, nothing else.

I found what appears to be a manufacturer signature stamp inside the drivers side rear door. Lol?

I thought so too but didn't see it on the other side. You'd think child locking mechanisms would come stock and not be needed to be specified during the assembly process, but I think it's still kinda random

Nothing interesting in any of the cars I've bought, but test driving cars can be fun! We found an unopened can of beer in a Cadillac my mother was looking at, and some Vicodin in a 3 Series my ex-girlfriend was looking at.

Never in this one. One time I let my buddy borrow my old pickup truck for a week when I was out of town. About 2 weeks after I got back, I was cleaning and I found a condom wrapper stuffed between the seats in the rear. Little bastard christened my Dodge.
