I'll just swap one of these in

Congrats if you actually know what engine it is!

Or do you think this one would fit?

Nothing like a RB and getting mpg in the teens with a 1.3L. Not the best motor, have seen many get swapped out for a LS or SR20DET

No idea about the second one

Lol there both rotaries. The 2nd one is just a 4 rotor instead of a 2 rotor. W/ those turbo's im guessing its 800-1000+ or so hp and only a 2.6l lol. I don't think there is such a thing as "the best engine" but you can't beat the uniqueness of a rotary engine. It really isnt the most ideal engine for an A4 though cuz it is very high revving engine and lacks some of the low end torque of a v engine. Where our car's need torque due to being somewhat heavy and awd. Honestly if I were really going to swap an engine into an A4 I would probably do a 4.2 for decent reliability and modability. Although a stroked out LS would be a hella lot fun in an A4

"If you dont plan on adding a turbo or SC, you could always bore it out and put in higher compression pistons to run it on a higher octane fuel. Could even do that and have it tuned for E85(105 octane) but will need to run slightly larger injectors."

Just from some basic know-how...how many horses would that get the 2.8 A4?

Just wondering....wouldent bore'in out the 2.8L to 3.0L just be 'updating' the V6 model of the A4? I meen, sure makin the engine bigger in that reguard would be nice. But..ya get what i meen? If we compound other things like a tune and higher compression then maby it would be worth it. I dont like the idea of running on higher octane + higher comp. because if there were a supercharger in the future, the compression may already be set TOO high with the higher compression pistons to use with the supercharged set up.

Anybody ever realize that the 3.0L 30V engine only has 217hp. Thats what we could conider the gains to be if we bore the 2.8L to 3.0...right?

i considered a 2.7 until i realized it would be cheaper to buy an s4 ...but stroking my 2.8 is my dream ,i screwed up and bought a 2.8 ,i knew the 1.8 would have more readily available mods but i had no idea how little there could be done with the 2.8 , but i like my car and dont wanna sell it just to get a 1.8 so when i get 10k to burn this is my plan stroked if possible ..supercharger and supersprint headers i know ill still get smoked by heavily modded 1.8 and 2.7 but it would be nice to be competition and something different ..... one day

ALSO. We would have to find out the wall thickness of the 2.8 block. I believe the most i have herd it being bored to is 2.9 on scaudi.com. I have no idea if thats anywhere near the limit or not.

Lol I know. I really don't think I would do this unless either I had a donor 3.0 (and damn I almost did but we ended up fixing it instead) and was planning on a supercharger with it or I was going all the way out to a 3.2l. I also still wanna put 2.7 turbo's on a 2.8 but ya... theres a lot of things I WANT to do but how many do you think will actually happen.

Edit... I just realized I might have donor 3.0... lol He had a G3 on it and blew the engine I guess the G3 tune is **** and runs lean.

Well going with a higher compression could just mean running 91-94 octane fuel instead of 87. If you drop a SC on the tuning would be done so that the ecu is using less timing. Pretty much like taking a stock 1.8t and running 25+psi on pump gas.
