I've heard mixed reviews about revo, whereas I've heard nothing but good for APR and GIAC. Just something to keep in mind...

It has been Flash loading for a few years now, but people are always going to call it "chipping".

very true... but like i said before, for me its about traveling distance... they are going to warranty their work, so if something should go wrong, then its a ten minute drive/ tow versus a 4 hour one lol

so if all else fails and it turns out bad then ill just bite the bullet... its only 400 bucks so its not that big of a deal

sounds good to me... have you test driven it yet? For all you know, a previous owner may have already installed a chip. such as the case was for me... original owner got it tuned, second owner never mentioned it, and being my first Audi, I didn't know any better until I dug real deep in the maintenance records and found something written in the margins of the book.

Have you considered just buying a tuned ecu? If you even get the car.. I got a used giac tuned ecu for $275. Saved a good amount of money and if something would happen to go wrong with it I'll always have my spare non tuned one that I could swap in. Which only takes a few minutes to do

Well couple PAGES BACK someone said they don't do b5 at all, then they don't flash only chip, so I was just letting them know....

But i'm on my way to get the car right now, it's a2 owner car, original owner was friend of the family i'm buying it from some older man, and they bought it for their daughter for college and she transfered out of state and thats why it's being sold... Everything is bone stock

No he didn't, again you attacked a member not knowing a damned thing you're talking about. If you are going to engage a senior member on the forum at least get your facts straight.

Revo IS and ALWAYS has been a flashloader company, (that may change someday though) they do (on occasion) make a custom chip for B5's, but im sure they don't like too as it doesn't pertain to their main business line.

B5's CANNOT be flashed, only chipped. B6's and up can be flashed.. Christ almighty.
