Default Suspension help

I am running 235/40/18 tires and since i put the new wheels and tires I'm sitting kinda high. I found a brand new set of H&R race springs on craigslist. that will drop the front 1.9" and the rear 1.5". will I rub on the control arms or anywhere else?

probably. You may need a narrower tire (225/40-18 is most common) or some fender rolling to get the 235s to fit. The race springs, from what I remember when I was shopping them, have a pretty significant drop. I had the H&R sport springs and they were a bit more reasonable.

How would the fender rolling help? The control arms would still be super close of not rubbing. I'd rather have the sport springs but I found new race springs at a good price.

Here is what my control arms look like now. If I lower the car does the control arms move lower also or do they stay in place and the body of the car comes down?

Is your pinch bolt missing or broken?

when I did my axles I got one stuck trying to get it out and I had to try and do it the Audi way by taking the control arms off. Well the pinch bolt would not come out. I tried punching it out, drilling it out, dremmeled off the head of the head, and nothing worked. i finally got it towed to my mechanic and they couldnt even get it out with with an air punch. I figured I'd leave it until it either comes out and I'll pull over, go to get another pinch bolt jack it up and put it in or until I do my control arms and have the bolt heated up so it will move. that weekend was a pita.

Are you running Winter tires on the rear and something else up front? I thought mixing tread patterns was bad?

I got the tires like that. it's the same size tire but one out of 4 is different tread and brand. I got the wheels because I didn't like the stock wheels and needed new tires for inspection coming up so I got these and I'll probablly end up changing the tires in 6 months, but I'll have the money then. I just recently bought a house so funs were limited a bit.

I don't think mixing tread patterns is a huge deal as long as the diameter is roughly the same. Don't quote me on that though
